What are the benefits of kettlebells? A recent study found that people who participated in an 8 week kettlebell class improved aerobic capacity by 13.8%, leg press strength by 14.8%, grip strength by 9% and core strength by 70%. Dynamic balance also improved. There were, however, no gains in body weight or % body fat.
So if you are looking to gain some strength (especially abdominal strength) and get some cardio in the process, kettlebells could be for you.
