How to Make a Vegan, Raw, Gluten Free, Organic Applesauce.

Fall is a time for apples. An apple with lunch, apple cider, apple pie, apple, caramel dipped apples… you get the idea.  But one food often forgotten about is applesauce. Personally, applesauce is something I hadn’t eaten since I was a child. However, a few weeks ago I tried this recipe and my love for this snack is back.

I love eating this applesauce because it’s a fun, but healthy treat. It is easy to make and tastes great. You’ll notice that it’s not as sweet as the store brought applesauce that you’re used to. This is because there is no added sugar. If you like your applesauce sweeter, just exchange the one of the Honeycrips for a Red Delicious.

Ingredients:

2 Organic Honeycrips Apples

1 Organic Granny Smith Apple

3 tsp of Organic Lemon Juice

Cinnamon to taste

Directions:

It takes about only 10 minutes to make.

Slice apples and put them into your food processor

Add lemon juice and cinnamon

Use the pulse button on your food processor to mix the ingredients. It is best to use the pulse button in order to make sure that the food processor doesn’t get too hot. If the food processor gets too hot the recipe will no longer be raw.

You may have to stop and scrape the sides to make sure all the ingredients mix smoothly

When your applesauce comes to a smooth and consistent texture you can enjoy your homemade applesauce.
