With summer comes barbeques, family events and vacations. Unfortunately, these can make eating healthy difficult, especially when it comes to dessert time. So here are some low-carb desserts that will keep your sweet tooth satisfied this summer.

3. Strawberry Shortcake

Summer is strawberry season. Put them on a vanilla cake with whipped cream and you are basically in heaven. With only 5.5 grams of carbs this is sure to please.

4. Chocolate – Banana Grahams

Step aside s’mores, there’s a new summer graham crack treat in town and this one is healthy! This is also a great dessert that kids can have fun putting together. (Note: if you don’t want all the sugar from the Nutella, try an all natural peanut butter instead).

5. Peanut Butter Caramel Shortbread Bars

These delicious bars will leave everyone wanting more. They are also gluten-free! Some of the ingredients are a little bit more difficult to find, so make sure you are prepared before making these. They are definitely worth the extra grocery trip as one bar is only 6 grams of carbs!
